Local - Offshore - Coronado Islands

full Day Local

Our local full day fishing San Diego trips are 100% catered to you and your group. We will leave the docks bright and early at 6:00 am to get out on the deep sea fishing grounds. With a full day we have plenty of time to visit all of our favorite fishing spots along the coast. We can drift along Point Loma, head out to the underwater wrecks off of mission beach, and can even venture north to the kelp forests of La Jolla.

There are endless options of hot fishing spots for us to check out, and we can target different species of fish throughout the day. On our full day fishing trips we often catch Rockfish, Halibut, Sand Bass, Sea Bass, and if we are lucky we will spot some schools of California Yellowtail or Dorados.

Since all of our trips are private fishing charters, you have a lot of say in how we spend the day. We will give you plenty of options and guidance. The most important thing to us is that we help you have an incredible adventure, a safe day, and of course that you catch a lot of fish.

full Day Offshore/
Coronado Islands

Our Full Day Fishing trips to the Coronado Islands or Offshore are geared towards our more experienced anglers. Those in search of an epic trophy catch of Yellowtail, Yellowfin Tuna, and the prized Bluefin Tuna. All of which are migratory species that follow smaller bait fish around, so it is our job to go around and search for them. These trips can have a lot of drive time looking for groups of birds or kelp patties that may indicate where the fish are.

Just one stop on the right location could truly make our day. If you are looking for consistent fishing action and catching of fish, this may not be the trip for you. But if you are looking for that one amazing sport fishing experience of catching a truly amazing species of fish then let’s get out there.

Given that these fish are constantly on the move and very sensitive to the ever changing weather and sea conditions, please give us a call to chat about the upcoming fishing reports. We can make a decision together on what the best option is for you and your private fishing charter experience.

What to bring

How to get ready for the best full day fishing adventure. We recommend bringing plenty of sunscreen as it can get quite sunny out on the water even on cloudy days.  A hat and sunglasses are always a good idea. The boat rides early in the day and later in the afternoon can get a bit chilly, so a sweatshirt or jacket is clutch. Shoes that you don’t mind getting wet. A small hand towel, trust us, these come in real handy. And please be sure everyone has a face mask.

We have the best fishing gear available on the market, but you are welcome to bring your own gear if you would like to as well.  Just please let us know ahead of time if you are bringing your own gear.

We provide an ice chest on the boat for your drinks, and anything else you would like to keep cold. You are also welcome to bring a smaller soft case cooler if you would like. While we do provide you with refreshments and light snacks, it is a good idea on our full day trips to bring your own lunch and some extra snacks. You will definitely want to keep you energy up throughout the day so you can fight and land your fish. It does get hot out on the ocean, so bringing extra beverages like water is always encouraged. We look forward to an amazing day of fishing with you!

California Sport Fishing License

On San Diego Fishing Charters all anglers 16 years or older are required to have a valid form of ID (Driver’s License, Military ID, or Passport) and a California sport fishing license for the day they are fishing. Luckily they are super easy to get for your fishing adventure with us. There are two options:

1. You can get one online here:
Login as a guest, go to “purchase license,” then “Sport Fishing 1 Day License (res/nonres).
Please be sure to: set it for the specific date we are going fishing, print it out and sign it.

2. You can get one at the day of your fishing trip on location at the docks.

We recommend that you go with option #1 as it will save us time on the day of our fishing trip so we can get out of the docks and out to the sport fishing grounds faster.

Mexican Fishing License

On our 3/4 Day and Full Day fishing trips, you have an option of going to the Coronado Islands, which are in Mexican waters. If we decide to go to the Islands, each person on the boat (whether they are fishing or not) is required to have three permits: 1. California Fishing License 2. A Mexican Fishing License and 3. A FMM Visa. Both of these are not included in the price of the charter.

1. California Fishing License can be purchased online here.

2. Mexican Fishing License can be purchased online here.

3. FMM Visa is a one day visa allowing you to visit Mexico and fish at the Coronado Islands. The price is currently $30 per person, this is an additional cost. We will purchase and fill out the required paperwork for you and your charter guests for these visas.

A valid Passport is required for all passengers on the boat if we are going into Mexican waters.
